Size Matters, Church Wise

Michael Bell, occasional contributor to the Internet Monk blog, has a fascinating statistical analysis of church sizes. Be prepared to do the math. It's worth the read.

    Steve,

    That was a very interesting study to read. Our church has about 500 regular attendees in three locations, the majority of whom I would consider "active". It's not a megachurch or likely to become one. It seems to be a good size. Not too large that you can't know everyone but not so small as to be unsustainable.

    It seems to me that the Kingdom could be more efficient by consolidating some churches, but the trend seems to be schisms rather than unity.
